The premium estimates provided by Motoo are calculated using standard industry formulas based on engine capacity, vehicle value, coverage type, NCD entitlement, and selected add-ons. These estimates are for reference purposes only and are not guaranteed quotes or official insurance prices.
2. Actual Premiums May Vary
Actual insurance premiums may vary significantly depending on the insurer, vehicle market value, engine capacity, NCD entitlement, driver profile, claims history, location, selected add-ons, and the insurer's underwriting rules. Since 1 July 2017, Malaysia car insurance premiums have been liberalised, meaning each insurer sets their own rates based on their risk assessment models.
3. Not a Licensed Insurer
Motoo is an insurance broker and comparison platform, not a licensed insurance company. We do not underwrite insurance policies. All insurance policies are issued by licensed and regulated insurance companies, takaful operators, or authorised agents in Malaysia.
4. Confirm Before Purchase
Please confirm the final premium and coverage details with a licensed insurer, takaful operator, insurance agent, or authorised insurance platform before purchasing any insurance policy. Do not rely solely on the estimates provided by this calculator when making financial decisions.
5. Service Tax and Stamp Duty
Since 1 March 2024, car insurance in Malaysia is subject to 8% service tax (ST) on the premium. The stamp duty is a fixed RM10. These are automatically included in our calculator estimates but may be subject to change based on government regulations.
6. No Liability
Motoo and its operators shall not be held liable for any losses, damages, or disputes arising from the use of this calculator or any decisions made based on the estimates provided. Users are solely responsible for verifying all information with licensed insurers before purchasing.
